GCLA Scholarship Program

Since its inception, the GCLA has placed a priority on providing scholarships to students seeking degrees in the “Green Industry.”  Our scholarship program includes a fund-raising golf tournament in the spring and a scholarship auction in the summer.  Our golf tournaments are wonderful, fun events with plenty of door prizes. The certified auctioneer makes our scholarship auction one of the best in the area.  We always have lots of fun and food while raising

funds for the students.

Since 2000, the GCLA has distributed in excess of $116,000 in scholarships.  In addition to annual scholarships given to individual students in horticultural or related studies, the GCLA has funded a $25,000 endowed scholarship at Clemson University, and sponsors students from Clemson University participating in the PLANET program. 

The total scholarships awarded to individual students in 2009 were $4,800.

If your studies are within the “Green Industry” (horticulture or related field), please complete our Scholarship Application Form and submit it to P. O. Box 1562, Columbia, SC  29202 by the end of May, or you may apply directly through Clemson for the GCLA sponsored endowed scholarship program.
